Who we are/What we do

A Band Of Ninjas is Brian Coelho and Orion Williams. Brian’s Vocal powers and Orion’s knowledge of the guitar and love of technology have collided to bring something new to the “acoustic” music scene. The Ninjas goal is to put the ‘rock’ into ‘acoustic rock’. This is no coffee house band.
At a typical ABON show, you are likely to hear a range of music spanning from folk to country, from rock to pop, all with a blatant disregard for what is “cool” or expected.
Orion loops his guitar to add textures and leads to his rhythms, building a wall of moving sound scarcely heard from a single acoustic guitar, with delay effects and distortion making appearances.
Brian will lull you with sweet singing and then turn around and rock you with power vocal leads. Add in some harmonies and you are in for a show.

The “is/are” question.

There is much debate on the internet on the question of whether to use “is” or “are” when talking about a band.  Some cite British English/American English differences in whether to use “is” or “are” in reference to a group of people.  The confusion most certainly enters the scene due to the fact thatagroup, is a singular entity comprised of multiple individuals.  Some may be comfortable in using “are”, referring to the multiple individuals in the group.  Personally, we choose to refer to the group itself, placing emphasis on the one-ness of the band.
